2020 part 1

Dear Readers, I apologize for being gone. But I'm back again and here to talk about 2020.

2020 has been a very strange and hectic year. For me the year is alright. I finally got into my dream school, Paseo. I met some new friends, of course in 2020, before the Covid-19 outbreak. I even have a boyfriend now. Although I can say I'm not as childish now emotionally or academically. But I do like to try and maintain a childlike wonder by watching shows for children. Like Steven Universe and She-Ra, although both of those series are over now. I'll still always have a fondness for them . I even have a boyfriend now, but that still doesn't change the mess that is 2020.

First we almost had WWIII. Then the wildfires started happened, followed by the death of Kobe Bryant and Covid-19. Covid-19 changed a lot of things for a lot of people. Canceled a lot of events people were looking forward to this summer. Vacations, Pride parades, even graduations. It even canceled school, which was kind of cool for me. Then after school ended, shit hit the fan. LQBTQ+  members were getting ready for Pridefall. Then, the name George Floyd hit news everywhere. It created outrage worldwide, a justifiable outrage. They did the only thing that they could do in that moment, they took to the road and began to protest. I was outraged when I heard about the murder of George Floyd and started signing petitions and educating myself on the many other innocent blacks who were taken way too early. But I felt that still wasn't enough.

So, a friend and I started talking and we found out there was a protest in our state in a week or so. We just needed a plan and permission to go. Although, of course since we're only highschoolers, we're underage and we assumed we wouldn't be able to. Then an idea stuck my mind. 'What if we made a protest closer to us instead?' That's when I started planning and researching many things, but I couldn't figure out where to have the protest. So, I went to TikTok and made a TikTok asking where I should discuss my plan. The answer I was given was discord. Then I asked TikTok for a name, but I don't think I got an answer yet.

Anyway, if you want to read more about the BLM movement from me, here's a link: https://weheartit.com/articles/346569322-2020-part-1-the-blm-movement
